XENOM Miami 2026 Ultimate Travel Guide: Hotels, Food and Athlete Itinerary
The Miami Beach Convention Center is in South Beach, across the causeway from Miami International Airport. For a two-day XENOM competition, a walkable room and a Monday flight matter more than a cheaper hotel that requires four rides across town.
1. Quick facts and the first decision
Competition
December 19–20, 2026; ten events across two days
Venue
Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive
Useful base
Convention Center / Lincoln Road / northern South Beach
Suggested trip
Friday arrival, Saturday–Sunday competition, Monday departure
XENOM lists tickets on sale and four divisions. Individual heat times and detailed athlete entrance instructions are still pending. The separate XENOM 005K on Sunday is not a full Decathlon entry. Prices in the budget below are illustrative trip reserves, not live quotes.

2. Build the weekend around the actual event
The organizer lists five tests on Saturday and five on Sunday: lifting, gymnastics and conditioning. The 2K Echo Ski plus 3K run is Event 005 of the full Decathlon, and the separate 005K lets a friend enter only that standalone event on Sunday. Entry products are not interchangeable.
🏋️ What to enter
Choose the full ten-event format if you want the overall EPI score. Current standards describe Foundations, Intermediate, RX and Elite; review the movement standards for your actual division before checkout. Solo and pair availability depends on the selected ticket product. A skilled HYROX athlete should not assume that the gymnastics and barbell requirements will suit them.
🎟️ Ticket and spectator separation
The event page marks Miami tickets as available, but a publicly verifiable Miami entry price was not listed in the readable event details. Check the final checkout total, fees, category, name and included spectator admission. Friends who only support should verify the spectator ticket product separately. The 005K listing says its entry includes Sunday spectator access.
🗓️ Do not invent an early finish
The official Miami page says heat times are being finalized. Keep both Saturday and Sunday free, even if one friend normally races early at HYROX. If the group needs a Sunday flight, wait until every entrant knows the relevant schedule and allow substantial time for airport travel. Monday is the safer shared departure.
Keep the full Decathlon and the standalone 005K as separate options in the group vote; each has a different commitment.
3. Choose a hotel you can walk back to
Prioritize two real beds, quiet sleep, flexible cancellation and the final door-to-door walk. The following distances come from Greater Miami tourism’s convention-center hotel list; availability and December rates must be checked for your dates.
🏨 1818 Meridian House: kitchen and a short walk
The property is across Pride Park, around five minutes from the convention center, and its larger units list cooking facilities. This can simplify familiar breakfasts for athletes, but confirm which unit has a full kitchen and actual beds. A sofa should not silently become a paid sleeping place.
🌊 Kimpton Surfcomber: beach without a long transfer
Greater Miami tourism puts Surfcomber about half a mile from the venue, roughly a ten-minute walk. Its beachfront setting works for a mixed athlete/supporter group. Compare the full price with resort fee, taxes, breakfast and cancellation terms; a sea view is less useful than reliable sleep before two competition days.
🛏️ Hyatt Centric or Marseilles: compare totals
Hyatt Centric is listed around 0.4 mile from the venue. Marseilles is about 0.6 mile and adds a daily resort/bar fee. Compare the final three-night bill and route to the athlete entrance. Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is expected in late 2027, so do not book a nonexistent 2026 convention-center headquarters hotel.
🚕 Brickell or Mid-Beach: only if the savings are real
A Brickell room crosses the bay for every competition visit; Mid-Beach needs another transfer or a longer walk. For friends on different heat blocks that can mean several cars each day. Price the whole group’s rides, parking and time before deciding a lower room rate wins.
4. Airport, local transport and food plan
Miami International Airport is about 12 miles from the convention center. A public-transport option is the 150 Miami Beach Airport Express from the Miami Intermodal Center; compare its current route with the hotel address. A taxi or rideshare for several people and equipment may be simpler, especially after a late arrival.
🚌 Airport transfer and reunion
Have one meeting point after arrivals, but let delayed friends travel independently rather than holding everyone at baggage claim. Record who carries bulky gear before selecting a vehicle. A rental car is rarely needed for a walkable South Beach stay and adds parking fees.
🥣 Food you can repeat
Pura Vida has a Collins Avenue location for coffee and bowls; the convention-center campus has Rum Room for a sit-down meal. Save each branch address and opening hours. Do not rely on a group brunch between tests: athletes may have different reporting or recovery needs and venue food policy has yet to be published.
🏖️ After competition, keep Miami easy
Lincoln Road and the nearby beach work for a low-effort evening walk. A celebratory meal at The Social Club at Surfcomber can be a shortlist option after everyone’s final event. Reserve a cancellable table only when the latest schedule makes it feasible; supporters can make their own day plan while athletes rest.
5. A realistic Friday-to-Monday itinerary
🧳 Friday: arrive and prepare
Check in, collect familiar breakfast supplies, confirm the building address and save the organizer’s athlete email offline. Walk the outside route to the convention center but do not mistake the public entrance for your eventual athlete gate. Choose a quiet dinner close to the hotel and avoid a hard tourist workout.
🏋️ Saturday: five events and recovery
Eat early enough for your confirmed report time once issued. Carry permitted kit, ID, water and familiar food subject to the final venue policy. Between tests, supporters can explore Lincoln Road while athletes decide whether to return to the room. Make dinner flexible; the second day still has five events.
🏁 Sunday: finish, then celebrate
The final five tests include heavy cleans and gymnastics. The 005K friends have a different standalone entry, so agree a group meeting point after everyone’s competition. Move the long restaurant reservation until all athletes are finished and comfortable; do not promise a common finish time.
✈️ Monday: depart without a race-day dash
Settle hotel and shared transfer costs, check bags and leave with an airport traffic buffer. A later flight may permit a short beach walk, but avoid creating a nonrefundable activity that competes with packing and check-out.
6. What the weekend could cost per person
This is a planning example for two friends sharing one room over three nights, in USD. It excludes airfare and XENOM entry because origin and selected event product change those figures.
🧮 Room and transport reserve
At an illustrative $180–$300 nightly room rate, three nights cost $540–$900 per room, or $270–$450 per person sharing. Reserve $35–$90 per person for airport and local transport, depending on bus versus shared car use. Taxes and resort fees can push the hotel total higher; get an all-in quote.
🍽️ Meals and optional spending
Allow $140–$240 per person for four days of groceries, casual meals and one group dinner, plus $20–$80 for optional attractions or contingency. That makes a $465–$860 per-person planning subtotal before airfare, race entry and any spectator passes. The range is arithmetic, not a quoted December price.
👥 The decision that saves money
Book a refundable hotel only after confirming the room’s exact bed count and cancellation date. One person pays the deposit, everyone agrees when reimbursement is due, and optional personal meals stay personal. If one athlete withdraws, the group already knows whether the remaining roommate covers the whole room.
