XENOM Miami 2026: Tickets, Hotels and Competition Weekend Guide
Two competition days in South Beach, with a trip plan built around performing well and enjoying Miami afterward.
XENOM™ brings its Decathlon of Fitness™ to Miami Beach on December 19–20, 2026. If your gym crew enjoys travelling for HYROX, this has a similar appeal: enter a challenge together, support each other and make a weekend of it. The competition itself needs a different plan. Ten tests spread over two days mean your hotel, meals and recovery matter long after the first start.
Our suggested setup is simple: arrive Friday, stay within walking distance of the convention center, keep Saturday and Sunday clear, and fly home Monday. This guide covers choosing a division, booking tickets, comparing hotels, reaching the venue, eating between events and budgeting for three nights. You can still enjoy South Beach; put the ambitious sightseeing after your final event.
1. XENOM Miami: dates, venue and what is confirmed
Dates
Saturday–Sunday, December 19–20, 2026
Venue
Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida
Competition
Ten scored tests across two days; Elite, Rx and Compete divisions
Suggested stay
December 18–21: three nights, with both competition days protected
The official Miami event page confirms the dates and venue and lists tickets as available. As checked on September 26, the heat schedule and detailed venue arrangements are still pending. Treat an exact start time, athlete entrance, bag policy or spectator timetable from an unofficial itinerary as unconfirmed.
Book flexibility first. A cancellable room gives the group an accommodation option while everyone sorts out entry. Read the cancellation deadline carefully; a refundable reservation becomes a financial commitment once that deadline passes.
2. What is XENOM, and how should HYROX athletes prepare?
XENOM combines strength, skill and conditioning rather than asking you to carry one continuous pace through the whole weekend. Its format overview describes an overall performance score benchmarked against standards. Running fitness helps, but it does not replace technical lifting or gymnastics practice.
| Day | What the tests cover | Planning implication |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday | Maximum snatch; climbing and wall-work ladder; short bike sprint; repeated barbell work; ski-and-run endurance. | Prepare for several different demands, with food and spare clothing between starts. |
| Sunday | Hanging gymnastics with dumbbell work; heavy pulling; mixed conditioning; progressively heavier cleans; inverted pressing, pulling and lunges. | Plan another full competition day, including a fresh kit and an unhurried departure. |
This is a travel-planning summary of the official event slate, not your movement prescription. Loads, substitutions, scoring and permitted equipment depend on the applicable standards. Read every test for your division with your coach before entering. A skill you can occasionally manage when fresh may be a poor basis for choosing a category.
Work backward from the competition with your coach and practise the transitions that matter to you: warming up for a lift, eating after a hard effort and returning for another test. Travel week is a good time to simplify logistics. It is not the moment to learn unfamiliar advanced movements or add an exhausting sightseeing day because everyone has landed early.
3. Divisions, registration and spectator tickets
🏋️ Choose the standards you can actually perform
The three divisions are Elite, Rx and Compete. Elite requires approval; Rx involves technical movements, while Compete uses scaled requirements. Scaled does not mean effortless. The official rulebook is the place to check eligibility and the precise requirements. Athletes must be at least 18.
👥 Individual or pairs
The Miami registration page offers individual and pairs selection. Confirm the division and category available at checkout. Partners should review the actual work-sharing rules together; do not assume they work like another fitness race. Friends entering separately should also avoid assuming they will receive adjacent heats.
Entry price: we could not verify a Miami-specific amount from the publicly readable registration page. Use the official checkout total for your selected entry, including fees. A price advertised for another XENOM city is not a Miami quote. For supporters, confirm the spectator product, dates covered and any separate charges before calculating the group total.
Before paying, check the name on the entry, format, division and current cancellation terms. The rulebook states that registration is non-transferable, so do not purchase a spare entry expecting to casually reassign it later. Save the confirmation and keep the athlete email accessible while travelling.
Mandatory check-in requires identification. Once the athlete briefing arrives, add its check-in window and heat-reporting instructions to your itinerary. Leave room for security, finding the warm-up area and getting oriented. A generic map pin is useful for reaching the building but does not identify your competition entrance.
4. Where to stay: put walking distance first
For athletes, start around the convention center, Lincoln Road and nearby Collins Avenue blocks. A short walk lets you reach the venue without assembling the whole group in a car. It can also make returning to the room practical if your schedule allows, although you should wait for heat gaps and re-entry rules before relying on that option.
🍳 1818 Meridian House: useful for self-catering
Across Pride Park, this apartment-style property is listed about five minutes from the convention center by Greater Miami tourism. Kitchen facilities can help with familiar breakfasts. Check your specific unit, actual beds, occupancy and cooking equipment before dividing the price by the head count.
🌴 Kimpton Surfcomber: beach access and a nearby base
The official tourism hotel list places Surfcomber approximately half a mile away. It suits a group mixing athletes and beach-minded supporters. Ask about room location, noise, breakfast timing and mandatory fees; a pool setting alone says little about whether you will sleep well before an early start.
🛏️ Hyatt Centric South Beach: another central shortlist option
Listed around 0.4 miles from the venue, Hyatt Centric is worth comparing on the full three-night room total. Choose between these hotels using bed configuration, cancellation terms and the eventual entrance walk. None is presented here as an official XENOM partner or discounted event block.
Mid-Beach can work if the hotel saving survives the cost of repeat transfers. Brickell or Downtown Miami makes more sense for an extended city holiday than for the simplest athlete weekend: each venue trip adds a crossing to Miami Beach. A lower nightly rate is less compelling when two people need separate journeys at different times.
Compare taxes, resort or destination fees and parking alongside the room rate. Request a quiet room, verify whether breakfast starts early enough, and ask about a fridge for familiar food. Two actual beds may be worth more than a stylish room with one bed and an unsuitable sofa. Decide that before anyone pays a non-refundable deposit.
5. Airports, venue transport and whether you need a car
Miami International is the straightforward airport to compare first. The convention center directions page places it approximately 12 miles from the venue. Distance is not a reliable driving time, so leave a traffic allowance and avoid planning a tight arrival immediately before check-in.
For a lower-cost transfer, take the airport MIA Mover to the Miami Intermodal Center and look at the 150 Miami Beach Airport Express, listed at $2.25 each way. Check the live route and the stop nearest your hotel before boarding. There is no direct Metrorail ride into South Beach; a rail itinerary still needs an onward connection.
A taxi or rideshare can be worthwhile when several people arrive together with competition bags. Compare the fare shown for the actual vehicle size, not the smallest car, and follow the airport pickup instructions. Fort Lauderdale can also be an option, but compare its longer ground transfer against the airfare saving before committing the group.
The free Miami Beach trolley currently operates daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., with an average frequency of about 20 minutes. It is useful for flexible local trips, not a reason to book a hotel far away and assume you can reach an early heat. Check the route and service notices again in event week.
Skip the rental car for a simple South Beach weekend. Walking plus selected transfers is our suggested default. If you need a car for a longer Florida trip, add hotel parking and venue parking to the comparison, and follow the published event parking arrangements when available.
6. Food, coffee and recovery between events
Build meals around the schedule instead of hoping everyone can leave for brunch together. Bring familiar portable food, subject to the eventual venue policy, and identify an easy backup close to the hotel. Supporters can take a relaxed restaurant break while athletes keep to a more predictable routine.
Pura Vida on Collins Avenue is a useful breakfast, coffee and bowl option to shortlist. Its Sunset Harbour location is another possibility for a longer break. Check the branch address before ordering: the South Beach location on Washington Avenue is farther south and should not be treated as the same quick pickup.
For a sit-down meal, consider The Social Club at Surfcomber or Rum Room on the convention center campus. Confirm opening hours and a group booking nearer the date. Save the long celebratory dinner for after the final test, when an unexpected schedule change will not turn the reservation into a distraction.
If you want a light pre-event session, Anatomy Miami Beach lists its location at 1212 Lincoln Road, Suite 204. Contact that club directly about visitor access, equipment and price. The published day-pass prices for other Anatomy locations do not establish access or pricing at Miami Beach. Your hotel gym may be enough for the small amount of movement you actually want on arrival day.
Protect sleep and familiar eating habits before spending money on recovery extras. Avoid turning Saturday evening into another workout, a long beach session or an experiment with a new supplement. Put a dry shirt and a light layer in the bag so that cooling down does not mean sitting around uncomfortable while waiting for the next start.
7. A Friday-to-Monday XENOM itinerary
✈️ Friday, December 18: arrive and simplify
Arrive with enough time to settle in, buy breakfast supplies and walk the route to the convention center. Follow official check-in instructions if a Friday session is announced; none is assumed here. Eat near the hotel, prepare both days of kit and make the next morning easy. Long-haul travellers may prefer arriving Thursday for an extra buffer.
🏋️ Saturday, December 19: first competition day
Use your assigned schedule for breakfast, warm-up and reporting. Keep restaurant bookings flexible and let supporters explore independently during longer gaps. After your last test, choose an uncomplicated meal and a quiet evening. Your weekend performance is not finished just because the first day is over.
🏅 Sunday, December 20: compete, then celebrate
Allow another full day at the venue. Store luggage only if you are changing hotels, and check shower arrangements before promising a post-event dinner. Once your commitments are complete, meet the group for a relaxed meal. Do not sell everyone on a sunset cruise with a non-refundable departure time while the heat schedule is still unknown.
🌊 Monday, December 21: a little Miami before departure
If your flight allows, choose a short Beachwalk stroll or a visit to South Pointe rather than a packed attraction circuit. Leave time for checkout, collecting luggage and the airport transfer. A late departure makes this more comfortable; an early flight simply means skipping the sightseeing.
Supporters do not need to mirror every athlete break. Lincoln Road is an easy area to plan a separate coffee or shopping stop, while a beach visit can fit a longer window. Share a specific reunion point and ask supporters to return before the next relevant heat, with time to re-enter under the event rules.
8. What will the Miami weekend cost?
The following is a planning estimate per person for December 18–21, with two people sharing one room for three nights. It is not a live hotel quote. Accommodation assumes a target all-in room budget of $260–$500 a night, divided by two. Replace it with a dated quote including taxes and mandatory fees. Flights and athlete or spectator admission are excluded because they vary by origin and selected entry.
Accommodation
Three nights, half of an all-in twin-room total
$390–$750
Food and coffee
Arrival through departure; allow for tax and tips
$180–$280
Ground transport
Airport transfers and selected local rides
$35–$110
Supplies and incidentals
Snacks, small essentials and contingency
$30–$70
Estimated ground-trip total
Per person; add flights and the actual admission checkout total
$635–$1,210
💡 Pro Tip: Four people sharing two rooms need a combined ground-trip reserve of $2,540–$4,840 on these assumptions, before flights and admission. A solo room increases the accommodation share.
At the lower end, choose a good-value walkable room, use the airport bus where practical and mix restaurant meals with simple breakfasts. At the upper end, the hotel and transfers account for much of the difference. A spa booking, premium gym access, rental car or extra night sits outside this estimate and needs its own line.
Keep competition entry personal and split only agreed shared costs. If one person wants a single room, calculate that room separately rather than quietly increasing everyone else's share. Before a hotel becomes non-refundable, agree who covers the cost if someone drops out. The cheapest trip on paper is not useful if one organiser has to chase the whole bill afterward.
9. Packing and the final booking checklist
- Entry essentials: identification, confirmation email, the latest athlete instructions and saved hotel details.
- Competition kit: clothing for both days, spare socks and the footwear and accessories permitted under your division's rules. Review equipment allowances before packing grips, belts or lifting aids.
- Between-test bag: a dry layer, familiar snacks and a refillable bottle, subject to published venue restrictions.
- Miami basics: sun protection, comfortable walking shoes and a light layer for indoor air conditioning or a cooler evening.
- Group logistics: a charged phone, power bank, one reunion point and separate plans for anyone with a different heat schedule.
A week before travel, recheck the event page, entry email, airport route and hotel cancellation conditions. When the heat schedule arrives, replace placeholder blocks with actual reporting times. Keep one person responsible for updating the shared itinerary so that the group is not following three different screenshots.
10. Plan the whole group trip in FlowTrip
Put arrival times, hotel options, bookings, meal ideas and the final competition schedule in one shared plan. Athletes can follow their own heats while supporters know when to return. Keep optional sightseeing separate from commitments everyone has agreed to pay for.
XENOM Miami frequently asked questions
When and where is XENOM Miami 2026?
XENOM Miami takes place on December 19–20, 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Individual heat times have not yet been published.
Is XENOM the same competition as HYROX?
No. XENOM is a separate competition with ten scored tests over two days, including strength, gymnastics and conditioning. Use the XENOM standards for your division instead of assuming your HYROX preparation or equipment will cover it.
How much are XENOM Miami tickets?
The official Miami registration page is live, but a Miami-specific entry price could not be verified for this guide. Check the total for your selected format and division at official checkout, including fees, and verify spectator admission separately.
Where should athletes stay for XENOM Miami?
Start with hotels around the convention center, Lincoln Road and the nearby Collins Avenue blocks. A walkable hotel reduces transport uncertainty between events. Check the actual athlete entrance once the event map is released.
Can I fly home on Sunday after XENOM?
Monday is the safer departure choice while Sunday heat and finish times remain unpublished. Do not book a tight Sunday flight on the assumption that your competition will finish at lunchtime.
Research checked September 26, 2026. Official sources are linked beside the relevant details. Event schedules, admission options, hotel availability and transport services can change; use the organiser's final athlete communication for competition instructions.
