Bucharest works when a group wants late nights, substantial meals, a memorable spa day and prices that can still feel reasonable beside Western European capitals. Its weak point is the very thing that attracts many stag groups: Old Town makes it tempting to arrive without reservations, follow promoters and discover the true price only when the bill lands.

This is the practical default: restaurants, historic streets and nightlife are walkable, while University and Unirii provide metro access. ✨ Calea Victoriei and Romană
A more polished base for cocktail bars, museums and restaurants, still close enough to the centre. Search by walking distance to Piața Romană or Universitate rather than a vague central label.
🍽️ Floreasca and Dorobanți
Choose the north when contemporary restaurants and clubs are the headline. The area is less convenient for first-time sightseeing, so budget rides and keep each night in one zone. Do not book here merely because a club currently looks fashionable; calendars and door policies change.
4. Airport and city transport
🚆 Henri Coandă Airport by train
The airport rail station connects Henri Coandă with Gara de Nord. It is useful for central arrivals, but most hotel areas still require a metro, taxi or ride connection. Check the official timetable against the actual landing time and group size; ten people with luggage will not fit neatly into two ordinary cars.
🚇 Metro and surface transport
Bucharest uses Metrorex for the metro and STB for buses, trams and trolleybuses. The current official system includes time-based and multi-day products, while airport and integrated products can differ. Load or buy the correct product, validate as required and recheck fares before travel rather than relying on an old blog screenshot.
🚕 Licensed late-night rides
Use an official taxi queue or established ride app, compare the registration plate with the app and send the hotel address to every guest. Split by room, not randomly, so nobody is stranded without a key. A hired minibus needs a written passenger limit and return pickup point.
Use geography as the schedule: Old Town and University together, Victoriei and Romană together, or Floreasca for a dedicated dinner-and-club night. Crossing the city repeatedly is where a cheap weekend becomes an expensive queue.

Therme is the strongest recovery-day anchor: thermal pools, saunas, slides and food under one roof. It is outside the centre, zones have different access rules, and popular periods can sell out. Buy through Therme, check towel and robe arrangements, agree a meeting time and keep the return transport separate from anyone who wants to leave early.
🏎️ Karting or competitive games
Indoor karting, escape rooms, axe throwing and shooting ranges are commonly marketed to groups. Choose a licensed operator, request insurance and safety rules, and never combine alcohol with driving or weapons. Confirm the actual activity duration: a two-hour booking may include briefing and waiting rather than two hours of action.
🏰 A city or day-trip option
The Palace of Parliament requires the correct official booking and identification rules. Brașov and the castles can fill a full day, so use them only for a four-night trip or a group that values sightseeing over another late night. A rushed castle detour after a 4 a.m. finish pleases nobody.

Caru' cu Bere and Hanu' lui Manuc are central landmarks; more contemporary restaurants sit around Victoriei, Romană and Floreasca. Nomad Skybar and other established venues publish their own programmes and booking contacts. Use official pages, confirm age, dress, entry time and table minimum, and keep a second named venue nearby. Avoid bar crawls that conceal venues or promise guaranteed club access without written terms.
🎵 Alternative and north-city nights
Control Club and Expirat offer music-led alternatives to Old Town, while larger clubs often operate farther north. Verify the exact event: a venue name does not guarantee the same music or atmosphere every night. Put optional table service outside the mandatory group budget.

Transfer, check in and hold a Romanian dinner near the hotel. Use one reserved Old Town or Victoriei venue, with no non-refundable headline activity after uncertain flights.
